Recording more tracks

I have been recording myself for a little while, so all I do is one track at a time. I'd like to eventually get into recording for bands, and will probably need to record more tracks at once (separate channels for kick, snare, etc...)

I have a Eurorack mixer which I feed into an Audiophile 2496 through the RCA cables. Is there any way I can record the snare, kick, etc. onto different tracks in Sonar?
I've recorded drums before but had to mix them through headphones initially and record them all to one track. This didn't leave me much control over the mix.

Do I need to just get a new audio card with more inputs?

Yes. Plain and simple.
The number of separate simultaneous tracks you wish to be able to record will dictate how many inputs your soundcard will require.

The best you can get from the Audiophile would be 4 mono tracks. However, getting more than 2 mono tracks from it requires the use of the S/PDIF I/O and some form of gear (preamp, mixer etc...) that offers S/PDIF output.

Or there are other combination units like the Presonus Firepod.
