I need to get a labtop, and software, but I do not know where to start. I just need some suggestions, and some advice.

There are so many laptop threads, I just have to ask at least one person - is there a reason why it has to be a laptop and not a desktop system? I'm really curious about this.

Just gonna provide you w. the usual standard response, reply, etc. normally supplied here which are;
A- What's yr budget & what was asked earlier, have you considered using a desktop instead of a LAPTOP?
B-What will you be recording? Full band? Single vocs accompanied by acoustic perf? Electronica instrumentation, etc?
C-How many tracks do u need & what do you require from yr recording software ?
D-What's yr level of expertise regarding DAWS?
