Im working with Sonar and a friend of mine got a copy of Cubase LE with a Tascam unit he just picked up. Can he save a track recorded in Cubase in a format that I can open with Sonar 7?

I don't think you can.
The way I see this, is to export all your tracks as separate wav files, import them into Sonar and have fun.
Maybe Rewire could help.

Just make sure the sample rates are set the same and you should be able to use the .wav files from cubase.
Look in the Audio folder of the Cubase project folder.
