iight im just curious to one thing...if im recording alone and say my mic is in the closet and im using that as the booth...how do i hit record and get to the closet before it starts specially if im alone......is there a setting that will make adobe audition/cool edit wait a certain amount of time before it actualy starts recording and playing?

i've never used audition but i would have thought it has a punch in feature. i guess, you need to set markers to tell it where to punch in and out then start playback far enough back so you can get in the closet. when it gets to punch in should start recording automatically. i would have thought if you also set it to loop then it may do multiple takes like cubase does.

If your sequencer also allows you to map functions from MIDI, you can use any cheap midi keyboard.

I use N-Track (which will do it) and use the upper keys - that I never use anyway - on the keyboard for start, stop, record, etc. If your sequencer will do it, it's FREE!

My 42" widescreen TV is connected to my PC and they are placed in separated rooms.
I use TV as recording monitor together with cordless keyboard and mouse!
Picture quality is not perfect but not too bad when I just need to click on rec button and stop.

TV does minimum of noise and its distance from mic is at least 13 feet.

It works for me.
But anyway, there are at least 4-5 seconds of empty track before anything begins to play on my projects.
