I just bought a Tascam 424. When I try to record, nothing seems to record. I am following all the steps in the manual. Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong?

how are you recording...with a mic....if it is a condensor you maybe forgot to put on the phantom power

I was trying with a mic and a guitar. Found out that I had the other three tracks set to safe. Once I got those off of safe mode, everything worked. I thought that was unusual that the record light would blink. Duh! Sorry for not figuring this out sooner. Thanks for the quick reply though. It is much appreciated.

good...im glad things worked out....its amazong how often simple things like that become problems.
