I just started to record vocals in my dorm room, and i was noticing my recordings sound very roomy. I have the mic in the corner of the room. The floor is tiled and the walls are brick. Any help to get my vocals to seem more prominent without being too "heavy" is appreciated. Also, im using a Studio Projects B1

an example is at www.soundclick.com/questien

Hang up a couple heavy blankets offset in the room and cover the tile floor with a rug. That will take care of some of the roomy sound. Use a little compression when you do your mix and roll off a little bass response with the eq. on the vocals. How much depends on what else you have in the mix, just keep experimenting until you get the sound your looking for.

Thanks. Off to Wal-Mart
(Thats the only store we have here in Stillwater)
