Okay, so I've been recording a bit now with my Behringer PMP3000 digitally into my computer. I have just been using RCA cables out of the Behringer into the Mic input of the computer sound card. Yes, I'm sure I should get a new sound card and do this differently? Any suggestions there?

Also, I've just been using RecordPad, which is doing the job for a single track recording. Any suggestions on a more sophisticated program that does not cost a lot? Perhaps one with a really good manual?

On a side note, it seems like I have to turn up the volumes on the Behringer pretty high to get a good volume out of the speakers (I am using two 250 watt monitor speakers right now). Do I need more powerful speakers? Do I need to change the settings on the Behringer?

I was a little bummed that I did not get a manual from Behringer in English so my knowledge is limited in terms of the more advanced settings.

Any help is appreciated. First time user, thanks in advance! Glad to join the community.

Thanks so much, I got the manual and printed it out. Now I am trying to figure out what some of the terminology means, lol. I think I'd better get a recording book or something.

Also, thanks for the link to Reaper, I am going to try out the evaluation version.

Appreciate the help!
