So i just got a DP02FX and i started recording about two weeks ago. I am first starting with micing my guitar cabinet with a sure SM57. Basically it seems that I have to turn the input level for the mic all the way up just to get a descent level to record at. Then when i play back into my headphones, I have to turn the volume all the way up but it still comes in very quite and I feel like the sound I am getting is not very accurate of what my amp is doing. I have the mic close, about 2" and off center to the left edge of my speaker cone. Looking for any suggestions on this issue.

Congrats on getting the DP-02 man. I've got the CF version. It's a great unit. One thing about the DP-02 is that the mic preamp on it is a little weak, however, it should definitely pick up a guitar amp with no trouble at all. Make sure you have the mic plugged into "Input A" and the switch is set for "Mic/Line" next to the input jack. Other than that, it is a matter of setting the trim properly for whatever track you have designated to record with, and finally the amount of gain via the fader on the same track. You should easily be able to peak out the meter with what you are recording.

Double check those things and let us know what you come up with. I know some of it may sound very elementary, but it's usually the stupid simple things that trip us up.:o;)
