I've got a young prog band I'm recording. The guitar player can't quite nail his parts cleanly. I want to slow the rhythm tracks down, record his guitar line, then speed it back up. Can that be done in X2?

Just make him get his part right, or tell him you will hire a session guitarist.

It can be done, but you might not be 100% satisfied with the results.

You're not going to be able to slow down the parts for him when he's playing live... Prolly a good idea for him to actually learn to play the song... :)

Sonar's audiosnap feature is really nice for doing stuff like this. I've used it in older versions and the way it works changed a little. I'm pretty sure if you highlight a track and push "A" it comes up. Look it up. You can slow your tempo, record his part, then you can use audiosnap to sync it back up at a higher speed. You'll have to research it a little though. The new version changes the way it used to work from back in 8.5. I used to use it to fix drum parts and stuff.
