recording from vinyl to cd via PC burner

Just had a cd burner installed into PC. Have managed to burn cd to cd, but am now hoping to record some longplay vinyl records onto cd. Do I require additional software or is there something I'm overlooking? Please send info to janine.jeffries@telstra.com
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it sort of depends how much time and money you want to spend, and what sort of results will please you.

Optional: Equipment to clean up the records. This could vary from a clean cloth and a bucket of water with Windex or Photo-flow in it, to an elaborate vacuum cleaner.

Turntable.

Phono preamp.

A/D converter. Your soundcard presumably has one. You can spend a little or lot on one that you may think is enough better to be worth the money.

Optional: Software to clean up the tracks.

CD Burner. You say you have that.

CDs.
