Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum.

I've got a bunch of cassette tapes I want to put on cd's to preserve them (many are out-of-print and getting old).

Where do I go to get the info I need? I want to only do this, not record live, or remix, or anything fancy.

I have a "boom box" with an audio out, and a "mike" jack in my computer.

Many thanks.

You need to run a cable from the output of your boombox to the Line in (not mic in) of your soundcard.

With software like www.goldwave.com you can record it to hard disk.

Depending on the jacks on your boom box, the cable will vary. Ideally it has 2 RCA's, Left Right on the boom box. On the other end of the cable you want it to be 1/8" Stereo Male Cable. Radioshack Item.
