I think there is no difference between a XLR and a 1/4" TRS quality wise

Ok I have another question.Should I record from to cables, L and R Mono and then mix it into a stereo file in the PC, or just record from the Stereo out.I heard the first method is better quality

It all depends on whats comming out of the keyboard, just lets say its a piano track, I say mono but if its a full sequence and you have different instruments pannned different ways then go left / right so you can preserve your stereo image

The only exception to this might be where your keyboard is outputting stereo effects; in this case you want to preserve the stero image. If you are recording a single instrument (other than drums whole) dry, then generally you want to go mono.

aren't these 2 methods essentially doing the same thing? Why would one be better tan the other? Why wouldnt the stereo out preserve the stereo image

It all depends on if you are recording a stereo track or a mono track.
