Hey!!!
I just picked up a set of Logitech speakers for $60 (normally is $130 :)). This includes a sub and 5 speakers (front right, left, back right left, and a center). When I play an mp3 of say, a band.. if plays through every speaker. However, when I play something I recorded if only plays through the front two.

I was thinking maybe its cause I am using a crappy $15 computer mic? Or the way I'm recording. Anyways, I have a Shure SM57 and an M-Audio DMP3 on the way, and was hoping that may fix the problem?

I'm pretty new so I could be way off. Please let me know!! Thanks.

You're recording in mono and mixing in stereo. If it plays in all 5 speakers, it's because it was mixed in surround.

You need to set up your software to mix in surround. Be advised, it can be tricky, and will give you headaches when you start figuring out just how much of a pain in the ass subharmonics can be.
