Hello everyone,

Board: Mackie 1604
Sound Card: Delta 1010

I would like to know if anyone could suggest a good book or website on the art of recording drums.

We have been recording this last week on a mackie going to Vegas and the drums sound great by themselves, but when we put them with the rest of the band they seem to get lost in the mix.

Quick question also, My mackie is 1604 the first one. The EQ is on it is pretty basic, we have been using the Vegas EQ plug-ins to EQ every thing instead using the mackie. Should I purchase a parametric EQ for each channel of my Delta 1010 before going into the computer?

If you run into some NICE EQ's for cheap, then maybe, but damagae done at this stage whether from EQ, Compression or other FX cant be fixed later, so I'd still be doing most of the EQ in mixtime. Your PRIMARY EQ oughtta be your choice of mic, and just where you put it.

you can look at www.studiozpro.com and " listen to the sample mixes". Many of those tracks were done with nothing but Vegas' stock track EQ's

man, i have mad respect for you, your studio, and your skills pipeline.

but where do some of these bands crawl out from? heh
