I Have A 2 Input Sound Card ..a Behringer Mixer And A Couple Of Oktave Mc012 Condensers....whats The Best Way To Record Drums With Only 2 Inputs?should I Add A 3rd Or 4th Mic And Mix Down To 2 Tracks When Recording Od Just Go Stereo Pr?? Ive Been Recording 2 Condensors In Ft Of The Kit With Pretty Good Results
But Would Like Better..????

use 3 of those mics (if u have more thatdbe great)
one input for the bass and snare
and the other input for everything else
(u need 2 mixers for this)

if u want, just get a new card
a couple of audiophiles by m-audio would be good
delta 44, 66, 1010lt, 1010

use one overhead mic and a kick drum mic cuz if u mix the drums in the mixer then send a stereo signal to the card u wont have as much control and ull have to get the mix right the first time

I Experimented This Weekend With Oktavas Overhead Panned L And R Through Mixer ...and 2 Dynamic Mics One In Bass And One On Snare..in Center..and It Sounded A Lot Better....

One In Bass Drum And One Overhead Wont Give The Stereo Image I Want....i Soon Will Upgrade To 4 Input Card..so I Can Tweak Levels In Mixdown ....as For Now I Think Ill Do The 4 Mic Method And Carefully Tweak Before Recording.....

thts wut i used to do with my fostex now and i wish i had more control after recording but now i do computer recording and i have a delta 66 4 trs ins and outs so i can do the 4 mic technique with ease
but im sure gonna miss using a mixer to record to the fostex i had a cfx 12 and i ran 6 mics 2 overheads snare kick and i used my friends pair of mk12's as room mics its was beutiful but ide rather get more postrecording expeirience with the individual instruments then later on ill get more inputs

Why Not Use A Mixer Then Into Soundcard? Also Do U Use A Limiter To Prevent Peaks??i Find Myself Recording Too Low Vol To Prevent Clipping....i Have No Limiter But Wanted To Get One To Use In Mixer>>

recording into a stereo mix worked for the beatles right?
