1. Ok, i need help finding a kick mic and overheads at a good price. I really want the oktava mc-012s but am not sure if it's in the budget. Maybe if I just got the one capsule for each I'd have enough.

2. I need a couple more preamps and compression. I already have two preamp inputs thru my ART MPA Gold.

3. The cymbals being used have a short decay time. Do I have to buy new ones or is there some way I can make-shift a faster decay? If I need to buy new ones, What would be good?

I'll try to help

For the kick look in this bbs classified. Someone is selling some AT pro 25s for 50 bucks. They work well. The single capsule Oktavas are what I use when I use my Oktavas. A second choice would ba matched pair of Kel Audio HM-1s for about$100 each.

Do you have an audio interface that supports more than a few inputs?
I assume you do. You might look into a few DMP-3s on the cheap end of the spectrum or a Sytek (4 channel) or a couple of RNPs work well (what I have).

If the decay is short, I would not think you want it shorter. I use mostly lighter thinner cymbals for recording. Possibly a medium for cymbal swell kind of work. I particularly like the Zildjian Custom A series.

Hope I helped some.
