hey all,

i have a set recorded to my harddrive that i want to record to a cd. the thing is, i don't want it recorded as one long track, but i don't want any track gap or any interruption at all between the tracks that happens when you split and record the mp3's. there must be a way to do this, right?

thanks in advance for any suggestions,

ilynx

When I record a "live" mix (dj set), I record the mix into Sound Forge 4.5.

Once I'm finished. I "track" the mix with CD Architect.

Thefore, you don't have to have one long mix. You can mark the tracks where ever you want them to be in the "total mix".

I'm not sure if Sonic Foundry still sells Cd Architect. You can check their website to see if it is still offered to the public.

thanks spin,
i actually managed to do the whole thing in sound forge, and it sounds great. the process is a little tedious, so maybe i'll try out cd architect.

thanks again,

CD Architect is part of Sound Forge. I think it is under TOOLS.

spin,

i hope you're still monitoring this post...
i have sound forge xp 4.5, is cd architect a part of this? i can't find it anywhere. i also cannot find any reference to it at the sonic foundry website. also, are there any other programs that will allow me to do the same thing. i would love to be able to click on a position in my mp3 or wav file, add a marker that would be then used as track numbers when i record to cd. this seems like it would be so easy considering the powerful options available these days with all the mp3/cdburner programs. am i asking too much?
thanks for all your help,

spin,
sorry to keep botherin you about this, but i've spent several hours trying to locate cd architect, or any reference to it, in my copy of sound forge xp 4.5h, and i can't find a thing! i also tried to find something on the sonic foundry website again, still nothing except references to customer support questions asked in december of 2000. i also tried downloading it from hitsquad/smm.com, but the link led to nothing. i even tried to notify hitsquad of this, but i don't think that worked either. it kept returning to the same page.
after reading a few of the features of cd architect on the smm website, i tried searching for some of the listed features in my sound forge, but nothing came up. i even downloaded the whole pdf manual for xp 4.5 from sonic foundry, no reference whatsoever to cd architect.
so, i'm guessing for some reason they had to take it out of the program, or it is somehow integrated into it in another manner. in any case, i can't find anything!!! i don't know how to find an email address on this site for other members, but i'll try right after i post this. if i don't get in touch with you via email, please email me at: mboudreau1@socal.rr.com

thanks again for everything, especially your patience,
ilynx
