Someone told me to get the Countryman Di box to record bass on my budget and still ahve a good sound. My first question is what does a di box do? Secondly, what do you have to say about this equipment and if you don't like it what do you recomend that is aroudn the same price?

thanks

A Direct Injection (DI) box takes a high impedance output - usually from a guitar or bass - and transforms it into a low impedance signal that can be conected to a microphone input on a mixing board or other audio interface.

It's a slick way to get your bass sound into your audio system without having to set up an amplifier and mic it. This system works quite well for bass guitar. Be aware that some tone shaping (eq) will still be required to get the sound you're looking for.

Do a search on this board or on google, this is a widely followed practice.

The Countryman is a very popular device. I don't own one, but everytime I research this topic I find it recommened the most.

woah, that was just what i was looking for. thanks for the help.
