Recording bars

I wanted to know if i record with a yamaha mg mixer and a delta 1010lt with 5 mics will it record all of it to one recording bar or will it be a separete 5 bars in a live recording. If it will only record on one bar then how can i get it to record on 5 seperate bars for each mic?

define a "bar" do you mean seperate tracks for each mic? and which mixer is it?

Yamaha MG124 12-Channel Mixer, and yeah a track for each mic so i can edit each of them after ive recorded.

what program are you using? the Delta LT will let you, but you have to set it up right in your program.

Depending on the program, you should be able to load 5 tracks and select the input on each track.

I know nothing about the delta or yamaha BUT
How many outs from the mixer are going in to how many Ins on the card? Or are you midi'ing?
If you assign a mixer channel to an In on your s/card & then that to a track in your prog & repeat until you've used up all your ins then your in pig pooh heaven.
Otherwise you may have to MIX tracks together to run them in to a limited # of INs.
