Recording and playing problems

Hello,
I've been recording songs into the computer from my Roland recorder. So i've plugged it into my sound card and recorded it into the computer without problems. (So i thought.. ) but when i would play back what i have recorded on to the computer it has little blips, and glitch type things? Would anyone know why this is? My sound card is new so it couldn't be that. These little blips are occuring when i'm just playing mp3s now! this never used to happen.

If the sound card is new, that's actually the first place I'd look...

Buffers, drivers, don't map, turn off system sounds... Lots to check there.
