This is my firs post here, so sorry if I do anything wrong

Ok: I just ordered a motu ultralite (it should be delivered to the shop where I bought it within a week or so) and I'm gonna use it for home recordings and even to record live music with a laptop.

This is my question:

Does a sequencer like cubase see all its 8 inputs (the 2 with preamps and the other six without preamp) or it's just like with Presonus Firestudio project where you have 8 inputs but cubase only sees a stereo in and so you have to mix everything before it gets recorded, not being able to do a multitrack recording?

What do I have to do to make cubase see all the ultralite's inputs? Does this happen right after the drivers' installation or do I have to do anything?

Thanks a lot!

Once you have drivers installed and working properly, your recording software should see all inputs separately so that you can record each channel to a separate track. (I dont know why the Firestudio would be any different).

You see all the inputs seperately, which is also what you get on with Firestudio Project (I don't know who you've been talking to who told you that rubbish!).

All you need to do is configure it in Cubase so you're using the ASIO drivers. I don't use Cubase so I couldn't tell you where this is, but it should be fairly obvious and easy to change (that's if it doesn't automatically set it up for you).

Ok, thanks a lot!

I said that cubase only sees two inputs with the Firestudio Project because I saw this thing on the videos provided on the Presonus' official website... there is one video showing how to install the interface and when it comes to configure cubase it happens: there's only a stereo in.

Maybe the tester was doing something wrong... it looked like he was some sort of external contributor, not a Presonus' employee
