I have a Yamaha MT 50 4 Track recorder, and I would like to dump the Analog signal out from this on to my computer, which is an IBM with a SoundBlaster Card in it... I have the 1/8 stereo jack coming from the Stereo Out on the 4 track, but I have been unable to get the computer to recognize or show the signal.... I have a feeling I have all the parts I need, there's just a few switches on this here computer that I need to flick....? Any insight would be appreictaed! Thanks.....

got it sorted!

Thanks anyhow Sal, I had been trying to use the Windows Recorder Option, but must not have had it configured propoerly... I was able to use the Recorder Option in another Creative Labs program that I have for a portable MP3 Player.... I am more than happy with mixing on the 4 track for what I am up too.... it's just really cool to get the sounds onto the computer and convert them to MP3 from Wave..... Cheers all....!

I believe Windows recorder limits you to 1 minute recordings. There are lots of recording/editing shareware/freeware programs available on the net. Did you check your windows sound system settings to see if you are getting a line-in signal?

Find the little speaker icon in your system tray, double-click, select Options, Properties. Select the radio button for 'recording'. Check the box at bottom for 'Line' or 'Line in', then click OK. Now you can adjust the 'line input' levels with the slider.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Michael... I have just continued to work with the Creative recorder, I think I have a much better idea of what is going on.... The windows recorder does only do 1 minute recordings, so it's about as useful as an old shoe... I think I just had it set on the wrong line in......

thanks for the tips... sg
