Hey guys,

This message would probably be better posted on the Newbie section but I thought I could get a quick response on this forum.
I have Cubase 32vst v. 5 that I'm running through a Mac G4.
I started recording my first song with about 10 tracks so far (drums, various guitars, bass, drums and hand percussions). But I recorded this (my very first attempt at home recording) on sequential tracks (1, 2, 3 etc.) and now I read in the book that I was suppose to record on odd numbered tracks (1, 3, 5, etc.) in order to record in stereo.
I burned a cd yesterday and some of the tracks were missing.
Is there a way a can save this? Can I cut and paste the tracks so they are odd numbered tracks?
I've re-read the instruction book but can't seem to find a solution to my problem. Is there anyone that can help

Hey framos, welcome to the Cubase club.
When they say you have to use odd numbered tracks to record in stereo, they are talking about recording a stereo "track" (ie, a track that actually uses two channels, one panned hard left, the other hard right to create a full stereo image of the instrument), not recording in stereo in general. In other words, if your going to plug the L and R output of your synth in to get a stereo recording, you have to start it on an odd number (say for example channels 11 and 12) and not on an even (say 12 and 13). It sounds like all the stuff you recorded was probably single channel stuff like mikes and guitars, which can be panned in the overall stereo image, but are not stereo signals individually. They can be recorded one after another in ascending order of channels just fine. If when you hit play in Cubase, if you hear everything you want to hear in the final product then you are fine.

When you exported your audio to create a final stereo wav file did you pull up the mixer and make sure that all of the tracks were unmuted? There should be no reason why you would only here some of your tracks if you burned it correctly.

Hope this helps.
