I just downloaded Audacity yesterday. This is me singing, recorded on my laptop mic with an input volume of .8 to cut out all the trucks in the background. I think that's the only setting I changed.

I'm curious what other people hear in this. I think the biggest issue is the mic picking up noises from my laptop, like the fan or the hard drive or other vibrating parts. Is that the distorted, fuzzy sound I hear? Especially at 30' - 36', when I'm actually being silent and not breathing or waving magazines around.

Sorry, link didn't work for me.

What are you after here? Why have you posted your tune?

You're recording via a laptop mic into a sound editor (not actually much of a recording program). It's going to sound pretty bad as (a) the mic is crap (b) the mic is crap (c) your soundcard is crap and (d) not only is the mic crap but it's attached to a noisy object - your laptop. If you want to record properly you'll need better equipment. Go read the Newbies forum and pony up for at least some basic real recording equipment if you want to record something that sounds half decent.

And that's when the fun really starts.

Unless there's some other intention behind your post? Critique of voice or tune perhaps, as seems to be popular around here. I'm really not sure.

Did I mention that the mic is crap?
