This is the first time ive had to record a metal band... and the first time ive recorded any band in my room... We had about 12 hours recording time total...

let me know what you think.. and then il let you know what gear was used to record them!

(i only spent about half an hour mastering each.. so they arent totally complete)

Track 1
Track 2
Track 3
Track 4

for track one:

i would suggest brining up the left guitar becuase the right kinda drownds it out.

overally the guitars seem very muddy

i also think the drums need to be louder, especially in the begining.

the vocals sound really nice, i like the whole industrial vibe they give off.

Needs a bit more "ballz".. The gits are a bit light, even though a nice tone, Everything comes through nicely though.. Not a bad band!! :)

Thanks for the comments.. the guitars were recorded direct into the PC and i used plugin guitar models.. the drums are a kit i picked up for £200.. i used an old Sure vocal mic for the kick drum.. 2 audio technica pencil overheads... an sm58 for the snare.. and a large condenser for the hihat... these are all the mic's i have but i think it came out sounding OK considering!

I could live with the guitars and vocals but the drums are the weak link. The kick needs more click, a little more snap in the snare. They're not aggressive enough for metel. The cymbals are nasty. I'd bet that's a function of the drums/ cymbvals/ player than the mics and positioning. Just an observation, no offense. :o
