Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a new computer as well as a decent soundcard to use with a software synthesizer, such as Gigasampler. A guitar, bass guitar, and a mic for voice recording, are the equipment I will be plugging in to my soundcard. I have been looking around for an adequate one and found the Hoontech SoundTrack DSP24 Value (24/96, Giga-drivers, etc) matching my requirements. As for the computer I will probably go for a PIII ca:700 Mhz 128 Ram.
My question is will this setup be sufficient to run a soft-synth smoothly considering latency?
I will no be doing any extravagant recordings with hundreds of tracks and a lot of real-time effects and so on.
