Hi

I just got an RNC compressor. I want to hook it up to my Delta Omni box, and understand that a good way to do this is with insert cables (TRS split to 2 mono TS).

I went to GC last night and they had Hosa and Monster. I have read on this board that Hosa's are no bargain, and also that Monster stuff is pricey for what you get (I tend to agree with that).

I did end up buying Monster because it's all they had, but can anyone recommend a good brand, and also where to buy them online? I am looking for plain TRS cables also.

And PLEASE do not tell me to build it myself. That is not my cup of tea.

Thanks.

I always buy monster brand. Of course I dont need dozens of cables. Whirlwind has served me well in the past.

Get the Markertek catalog: http://www.markertek.com . They have a lot of stock cables using good components (Canare, Mogami) for reasonable prices- they'll have what you need on the shelf. And they will also custom-build anything you want with any components you want. I've done a lot of business with them over the years (when I was in too much of a hurry to do it myself), and they are Good People. That's one of the catalogs that should be on the shelf in every home studio...

Gepco is another vendor for cables that does custom work with good components: http://www.gepco.com . I had them do some DB25/16-pair pigtails for connecting my multitrack to my patchbay, and the stuff was very well done.

Hope that helps!

Go for the Monsters if possible...you get what you pay for...most of the time anyhow ;)

I'll second that. Markertek makes some really decent stuff for the money.

Cable for my new studio is all Gepco... most of my existing cabling is Canare and Mogami...

Everything I've ever seen from Monster is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY overpriced.........

Build it yourself......Sorry, had to be said anyway

Other than that, markertek.....Monster is overpriced.
