I'm looking for up-tempo, Albert Lee, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill in guitar mode kinda stuff . . .

Tanks a bunch.

Brent Mason is the studio guy that does a huge amount of the insane country stuff of most of the CDs these days-put his name in google and I'll bet theres hundreds of discs.

Do a search on amazon.com for "Nashville Guitars". It a compliation of studio guys that will blow your mind!

A feller by the name of Doug Seven has a few instructional DVD's that are pretty amazing.

Oh, and check out any albums by Redd Volkert, he's got a new DVD......Good enough for Merle

Thass how it's done, boy

Doug Seven is a BAD mofo. Go to youtube and do search for him.

Also, Check out Pete Anderson, he played guitar for Dwight Yoakum for a while. Not sure if he is on youtube. Oh, one more: Check out John 5, who believe it or not played guitar for Marilyn Manson. He is a wicked country guitar player, a Chicken Picker from hell. Check out his album called "Vertigo"

Lots of greats already mentioned, but I also dig Jerry Reed. You can not go wrong with Albert Lee, Danny Gatton, and Brent Mason.

Here's a good website with tabs and audio samples.

How about the father of such things? James Burton.
