recoding tips

i know that the best tip for recording vocals is experience but i think advise from other people can help too. i record on protools le and was just wondering what are some good recording tips.

Equally important is pressing STOP when finished. If you don't and the machine continues to RECORD you run the risk of sucking all sound out of the universe.

to me these are the most important things in order:

1- Mic placement
2- eq
3- sonic space

obviously this isn't comprehensive by any means but to me a good recording and a good mix comes from mic placement, eq, and the right sonic space
