hi there everyone.
i was just wondering if anyone knows how i can get the sound from my rca direct tv receiver to my computer speakers. i have 2 rca jacks on the back of the reciever. one red one white. i bought a cable that reduces those two connectors to the 1/8 inch stereo plug required to plug into my soundblaster live's line in jack. i figured it would work.....seemed simple enough.....however, all i get from my speakers is a loud buzzing sound when i unmute the line in on my mixer???
i am stumped. any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks
JT

You are doing it the right way. Just two stupid basic questions though:

Are you sure that the output on the receiver is line level (and that they're really outputs)?

Are you using the right input on the sound card?
