I'm having a Flextone III amp and connected it to the computer like this:2 mono XLR cables to 2 mono big jacks,2 big jacks converted to stere little jack and that into the computer. I know it sounds horrible but right now I do not have other possibilities. I use the program CoolEdit Pro, but as I start the record there is no sign coming into the soundcard (Soundblaster Live, I know it sucks). I checked the cables and they're ok.
And there is a strange silent beeping too.
What could be the problem? Am I that lame?
Please help me
thx

Silent beeping? That sounds interesting.

Couple things to check first.
Make sure you're plugging into the Line In on the soundcard.
In the Windows mixer, make sure you've checked the Line In box, and that it's not muted.
In Cool Edit make sure you've armed a track fro recording

That would sound rather interesting .... but, silent beeping .... How would you hear it? :D

Possibly the silent beeping is the metronome? As Bulls stated .... You may not have the correct input enabled. Launch the creative mixer via Start/All Programs/Creative/Sound Blaster Live/Creative surround mixer .... verify that at the far right of the creative mixer, the proper input that you are using is selected as the recording input. Also verify that the level is adjusted correctly for that input.
