I have seen a card from Steinberg that can link additional machines and make native source machine that runs Cubase even more powerful as they all combine their power to this mother Cubase machine.

Promising but not what I had in mind.

I have with my AMD64 another XP2500 that I never used. Considering this CPU is still very usable, I was wondering is there some program that combined with LAN could make things shared in intelligent manner.

For example I use AMD64 for recording (with Fostex 24 I/O machine) and I was thinking why not employ this XP2500 just as powerful synth engine.

Is there some intelligent program that could work within Cubase or Logic, so that I could via LAN have all those sounds from XP2500 ready for AMD64 to be used and shaped within Cubase.

Anyone had something similar as setup?

I don't want to use soundcard outs from one machine back to another that is boring, is this possible in more modern and faster way to have permanent transfer communication within machines?

As far as I know, that is the modern faster way. It's called VST system link. It can be complicated to get up and running, but once you do it can add a lot of power to your machine. Since the processing happens from within Cubase, it allows your timing to stay linked, solves driver problems, and I do believe would be far faster than any LAN.

Indeed.

But thanks to guys from Cubase forum, I have second best thing to test and try. Look for yourself, very promising :
