Winner chicken dinner!
I understand that the players suck but suggestions on production would be appreciated.

These songs are... not exactly my taste. ;) :)

I actually thought that the sound was quite good though, which was odd taken alongside the admittedly bad performances. I thought that you got a good drum sound, although I would pull back on the kick a bit and its boominess, tune up those toms and then give them some more body, and tame that ride/crash cymbal which I found too harsh-sounding. I also liked the guitar sound. Didn't hear any bass in the mix, so if there was any, turn it up! ;) The vocals... well, dunno if I could get past the performance there to listen to production... :D I really dug the outro of that first tune - that was nicely done.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, they don't have a bass player. Cymbals were cracked but they sounded better in the room than on recording- so it's either bad mic placement or sub-par SDC's but probably a little bit of both(they were Studio Projects c4's). The kick doesn't sound boomy on my monitors, but i listened to them on my friends stereo and yeah they were too boomy. Should I high-pass some sub bass out of the kick, or do you think the "boominess" is coming from frequencies higher up?

Hopefully soon I will upgrade my Wharfedale 8.2's and get some nicer dynaudio's or something that will give me a little bit better bass response.

I don't think it's super boomy, but maybe could just be a little less so. Try throwing a high-pass at around 50Hz and see if that takes care of it. You may also want to dial in a little boost somewhere in the neighborhood of 2-5KHz to get a bit more click/slap sound to it, if you like that kinda sound... I do, but you may not. Of course, all this will depend on your recording and kick drum (maybe you've already cut the upper freqs to remove a squeaky pedal sound or something - dunno). You should find a better band to record next time. :D

Anyone else? This is like my 3rd band recording I need as much feedback as I can get to get better.

I know I could get more response in the mixing/mastering section but then they'd complain that I wasn't putting it here. If no one replies I guess I will move the thread there.
