Best Advice Ever: RTFM
Well, I have kicked off a new project solely based on Reason and during a refresher of the documentation, I came across Reload. Now for those of you who are not familiar with Reload, it’s the little program (Free for registered users) that allows you to import Akai S3k/1k formatted sample disks as NNTX programs and banks. I have accumulated a fair number of akai disks over the years and figured I would check out how well it works. Well to my great joy, it works VERY damn well. The disks rip to HD really quick, are organized in the standard akai partitions and it even generates a summary of all the samples on the disk on a handy webpage in the root directory. Samples map just like the do on the hardware sampler and it is a great to rediscover a lot of these disks. So anyone who has Akai formatted disks (or looking for good kits- Zillions of them on eBay) should really take a gander..
