first of all heres my setup. i have reason 2.0 on a laptop with 256mb of ram and i am using a m-audio 410 as my midi interface. i am trying to record to pro tools on my desktop which has 512mb of ram using midi through my m-audio audiophile 2496 soundcard. i have my laptop as the slave and protools as the master. my problem is that when i record using midi it never lines up on my pro tools grid. its like the timing is real bad off or sumthing. when i had my fast track pro i never had this problem, did i mess up something up in the midi menu.

my friends tell me just to use rewire but i have a behringher tube preamp and it makes reason sound real good
it seems like i'm the only person who uses this setup

sounds like a driver issue on the reason laptop. Make sure you are using the ASIO driver (if its a pc) with the lowest possible latency setting. I take it your only sending clock? You may want to just route midi tracks from protools to each individual instrument
