I can't play my midi keyboard thru Reason. Anyone else going thru this???

I've installed Reason 2.0 on an iMac w/ OS 9.2.2. The application works. I can make sounds, export files, etc... I installed the OMS driver, so OS9 can recognize my keyboard. I have a Midiman Oxygen 8 that has power (thru the USB) that appears to be functioning. When I set the keyboard up, I did the test and got the "midi recognized" computer voice when you hit a key.

When I go into preferences in Reason, I can pull down to "Keystation" (name for the Oxygen 8) as a port choice in "MIDI". In "ADVANCED MIDI" I could assign bus A,B,C,D and remote control and clock sync all to "Keystation".

So, Reason seems to be recognizing the keyboard. But I can't make any sounds with it. I've opened all the racks. Tried running the sample song and manipulating that... nothing. I'm new to Reason, so it my be my lack of knowledge. What am I doing wrong?

Any insight would be great! Thanks! -Dave

Do you know how to activate each instrument to "hear" midi notes? In the sequencer at the bottom look where it lists the name of each device you have in your rack. The left most column is labeled "in". Click in the column in the row of the synth/sampler module you would like to control, and a little midi plug icon will pop up. Whichever module this midi icon is next to is the one that you will be controlling.

Also, make sure that you have your keyboard set to transmit the same midi channel that you have selected to be input in preferences.

Hope that helps,
trog
