I'm using:

Reason 5.0
Cubase 5.1.0

I have rewire going and everything seems to be fine and dandy other than the fact that my tracks in cubase go out of sync with reason if I play the song from any starting point that is not the beginning. But It doesn't go out of sync if I start the whole song from the very beginning

This is an issue, obviously. I can't start the song from the very beginning every time I need to hear certain parts. It's also out of sync after audio mixdown.

I've done a lot of searching and I've seen people with similar problems, but I heard people say that moving the song and starting it from bar 2 (or after) fixes the problem. However, it did not fix the problem for me.

I just started recording again last week so this has been going on since I set it all up. Using windows 8 64bit. Reason and Cubase are both 32bit applications so I don't think that's the problem.

Easyest solution would be exporting the tracks from Cubase and loading them into Reason.

However some things I could think of:
Are the projects at same bit and sample rate?
Are both programs using same audio interface driver?
Is Reason 5/Cubase 5 confirmed to work under Win 8?
Does this problem happen only with this project or with all projects that use rewire? Could be that some plugin (in Cubase) is causing some sort of delay to go out of sync? Switch off all effect plugins in Cubase (turn off, not bypass!)

Here's cubase

Not sure how I check this in reason. There's no plugins that are causing the problem. The bars in Reason start just a little too early. For example, say a drum track starts on bar 2 in reason, then I have a guitar track that starts at bar 2 in cubase. The drum track in Reason starts RIGHT before the bar 2 in Cubase starts. It's too early in cubase, but is on time in reason. I don't get it. It's like the tempo in reason is a hair faster than cubase.

They both have the same tempo set. Reason is in slave mode. They're under the same audio interface driver because I can hear sounds from both of them through my headphones via the interface..

After extensive troubleshooting, the problem was solved by "downgrading" to Reason 4. All is well.
