I got my M-Audio 88 key MIDI keyboard for my birthday. My friend also got a smaller one.

I've recorded mine with Reaper with no problems.

But I was wondering if I'd be able to use 2 at the same time? I have 2 USB ports so I can hook them up no problem.

But will Reaper let me use 2 at once or would I run into problems? Can I just set each track's input to one of the MIDI keyboards?

And one more question:

Instead of recording the MIDI can I record it as audio from the output of the VSTi? Instead of recording and then rendering? Not a big deal just wondering if I'm able to do that.

Thanks.

Yes, you can do both.

Just select the appropriate input on each track.

To record audio, simply choose to record output, mono or stereo, straight or latency compensated.

Alternatively, record midi and apply fx as new take when you are happy.

Yea it's better to record just the MIDI so I can always change the instrument if I want, but I was just wondering how to do it.

Thanks.

there's more than one way to do what you want but here's the quickest: right click the 'record' button on the vsti track and select 'record output'.
