I've been noticing this really annoying behavior when editing/moving tracks in Reaper. Does anyone know a way to fix this?
So here's what happens:
Say I have a file with two (or more) tracks and 3 files in each like so:
I end up resizing the files so that there is some overlap (though I get the unintended behavior sometimes even if they don't overlap)
Now, I want to select only the files in the middle.
I click somewhere in the middle (the red dot) of the top file to select it and move the cursor there:
Then I hold shift and click somewhere in the middle of the bottom file (red dot)
You'll notice that this selected not only the files in the range that I selected, but also the files that overlapped them in the front (but not the back).
So now if I'm not paying attention, I may accidentally make modifications to all 4 files even though I only mean to change 2. e.g. resizing:
I find this behavior really unintuitive and annoying. Does anyone know why Reaper selects the files it does when shift+clicking; and more importantly, does anyone know how to change that behavior? Thanks.
