I got two things at a garage sale, one is a realistic mixing board, that has a bunch of audio inputs and out puts in the back. The other is just a simple tape recorder. I was wondering if there is a way to hook the tape recorder up to the mixing board. They are both realistic. On the tape recorder there is only one thing going out, that I dont understand. What is REM. There is also an option to have the SP.Monitor on or off, I dont know what that is. Any documents, or suggestions would be greatly appretiated.

well, iam going to assume the tape deck is a mono casette recorder. it probably has a built in mike near the tape door

right?

so. the REM is for the remote on/off button, usually located on a casette recorder microphone. they usually have the 1/8 in plug in the mike and the sub 3/32 plug on the remote. they were usually cast in one enclosure. it's like a pause button, on the mike.

some of these had both a line in, and a mike in.

decide what output you mixer has to offer. it may have a "MIC" level output, or more than likely, has an rca jack with "LINE" level output.

if it does have a line in, you can just use an adapter cord and plug the rca into the 1/8 jack.

if you plug line level output into a MIKE level input, it will most likely be very distorted. The shack sell an attenuator for this purpose.

good luck
