Does anybody here have the realtraps.com PVB ?

(Portable Vocal Booth ?)

I'm thinking about buying 1 or 2 and wanted to know what you guys think.

I know how important room treatment is, so it's time I start doing something about it.
(Even though it's probably going to cost me a fortune)

A lot of people around here have made their own traps, absorbers, clouds, booths and gobo's etc. If you have the resources and a little handy skill you can do this for a lot cheaper than you may expect.

Hey Gorty !

Well.... I'm all for saving a buck! (Or hundreds of them).

I will do a search, but do you know of any links to sites or threads that give examples of particularily good designs?

Have you built any?

This is a great read and covers a lot of ground. It takes a few reads to really get your head around but it is very helpful and is written by a member of this board, who is an expert, Mr Ethan Winer.

I haven't built a vocal booth but I have made a few bass traps and some broadband absorbers. I'll find the link to the thread for you that I posted as I made my traps. In the Studio/Building forum there is plenty of guys with their procedures well documented.

Excellent - I'll read it over a few times - thanks alot.

Are you still using the BR-1600 ?

Yep....still slogging away with the BR-1600. I'm happy with what I am getting out of it so I will stick with it.
I bumped a thread in the Studio Buiding forum that shows a few of the treatments I made. You just have to ignore and scroll through all the idle chat. :)
