We're definately doing the real thing!

The inserts and jackets might not be "real", but they'll look better than last years, which were pretty decent.

Welcome to the site!!

Tucci's Ideas

Tucci should the the VP of Marketing for HomeRecording.Records...

The web page (Idea #1) should be top priority...

I know I can pre-sell at least 3 copies of Comp II to my loving extended family. All I need is the web page that hawks it, then I just tell them how much their support has meant to me over the years and email them the URL.

- Any volunteers to host the page?
- Possible to host this page ont he public portion of www.homrecording.com?

Here's the best bulk prices I have found:

CDR:
150 (x3) @ 1.19 = $535.50

CD:
300 (x3) @ 1.25 = $1125

So it's roughly the same, but we'd have to buy more CD's to replicate....which may or may not be a good thing.

That $1125 is what I expected to pay for 500 (x2), and I didn't think I'd get such a good deal on the 300 disc quote. Now I'm looking at about the same price, but that 535 is tempting because we'd profit faster and basically there's no way for me to look bad :)

I *think* we will sell these well....but I'm hesitant to make a bad decision with YOUR money.

Comments!?

Hey Slack. Its usually about $400 for a glass master so the cost of real cd's will always be higher. The good thing about cd's if not mentioned already is reliability. CDR's have a higher rejection rate and may not play in every player, especially older ones. CDR's are burned..CDA's are stamped.
The printing on CDA usually are higher quality too, CDR printing can be pretty cheapo...So it may seem like a good deal when its really not ya know.. Anyhow, a concensus is a great idea from the contributors.

It's already been decided!

The quote we're going with is $1.21 per disc, 2 color silk screening, real CD's, not CDR. No setup fees, just shipping ($36) and as much as a 10% overrun (or 10% underrun), but we're charged actual CD's made.

The best thing is that this is for quantities of 300 per master! Can you believe it? The company sounds decent as well, and we've checked into it (see thread below).

Our CDR replication quote came back at $1.19 per disk....so for an extra 2 cents we get SO MUCH more.

I'll only accept the position of VP of marketing if Gidge is my secretary and brings me donuts everyday....we could recruit some newbies for interns.

I might take a stab at writing an article too....but no guarantees on quality or timeliness. Maybe we could have an essay contest;

"Homerecording.comp:
How it Changed My Life and Renewed My Spirit"
