Ready to move up

Im finally ready to move up to bigger products and etc.

I really like the new mackie thats out the "Mackie Control Universal"

If I get the following what else will I need to start "recording"

iMac G4 (1.25ghz, 256mb ram)
Mackie Control Universal
20/20bas V2 Studio Monitors
Protools
Reason

..
What else will I need to start recording, as far as mic preamps and etc.

Have you heard about the Tascam FW-1884? 8 XLR inputs w/ mic/line with preamps, guitar input, MIDI, ADAT lightpipe, Firewire connection to PC, expandable (up to 8 more units), 24/96 A/D & D/A with an msrp of $1699. I don't know what the Mackie runs but this Tascam looks sweet to me. I was leaning toward the Aardvark Q10 but I'm swinging towards the Tascam now. Haven't made up my mind for sure yet.
