Re:Software for computer recording

Any ideas which would be the best and easiest to learn software programs to record country music to my computer from my fostex DMT 8VL?

I'm sorry, there are no software programs that work with country music. :)

But seriously, you'll have to clarify a little furthur. Are you wanting to simply bring mixes in for mastering or converting to mp3 to put online, or are do you plan on mixing on the computer?

Re: last post

I want to burn my own cd's...therefore I will record on my Fostex DMT 8VL then transfer to my computer then burn from there...also mix on my Fostex too...so need a program just to load to to burn...hope this helps

If you're mixing on the Fostex already, can't you just transfer files from the Fostex drive to the computer drive via network or something? Then all you need is burning software and there's tons of that out there. I use Nero, it's a great burning app. :D

WellI already have software from my burner on the computer so maybe i don't need fancy software to just burn the music from my fostex?...Is this what you mean? Hope so as that would be too easy!!

Yep. Just record from the Fostex into the computer. Then, burn the recorded file.

I would use Sound Forge to record the file and for editing purposes (ie: truncating dead air space before and after the WAV. file, adding or decreasing volume, etc.....).
