I want to playback bass tracks through an amp and re-record them to a new tracks by miking the cabinet. The original tracks were recorded flat using a passive DI box.

The ouput my Delta-44 soundcard can be configured to -10, 0, or +4 dB. I also have a -15 dB pad on the amp input (SVT-III Pro).

What would be the most effective way to convert the level of the playback signal to instrument level suitable for an amp?

I've seen a product called "Reamp" which is made for this, but I would like to do this without buying more gear.

I "think" most DI's will convert the signal backwards back to instrument level but check the DI to make sure. You can send a line level back to an amp though, just be carefull with the output level.
