I have my Fostex ADATS hooked up all three set to internal. They are sequenced using the 9 pin cords. I am getting an annoying popping sound. Someone had mentioned it might be a clocking problem. My adats show no error ratings. I'm wondering if they are all three supposed to be set on internal???
Help

thanks

One has to be the master and the others slaves. Try setting two of them to external. I haven't used ADAT's in a long time but I always thought you needed the BRC or a 3rd party synchronizer like the one by JL Cooper to run multiple ADATs. Don't you have a manual?

I think the two slaves should be set to EXternal, that way the first is the master. Also this might be kind of obvious, but make sure they are all set to the same sample rate as well.

Oops sorry, I just echoed Tex's post.

Although I dont thing you need a BRC but it will prolly take longer for the machines to sync up so be sure and leave plenty of pre-roll time on the tapes
