Hey guys,
Just got an RE-20 do to voiceover stuff, because I love how it sounds on my voice. When I'm not doing pre recorded stuff, I announce professional cycling races over the summer. My question is, does EV make a mic comparable to the RE-20 in a handheld version?

RE-16 would be in that ballpark. An RE-11 (same mic but doesn't meet required production specs) would probably work just fine too and be cheaper. The RE-15 (and RE-10) is essentially the same mic but without the built in pop screen. There's a current thread on these.

You might want to have a look at the Beyer M88 as an alternative for live use. Also consider that a PA can be a pretty serious nulling factor between what sounds good to you when recording and what you need to acheive a similar sound in a live setting.

Right on. I've had dynamic vocal mics that sound great over the PA but are muffled and sound like crap on tape. Surprisingly, I just stated this in the thread going about this mic!

You might just get a small desk stand and use the RE20.
