But on to business, while on vacation in new york i was thought a brand new way to master my tracks and O.M.G. it works. This is not some childish way to master either so don't get all upitty with me. but anyway as soon as i got home i tryed it on a mix that i did for a group before i left and the results are astounding to say the least, so here ya go without further ado!

let me know wat you think of the mastering job

Sounds good man. You did that witht the spb1? Maybe i need to let my c1 rest and get a b1. Naw, i think i just need a good pre. Did you use that trackmaster on that one? Sounds good man. Good job on the vocals.

Nope!

i told you its been a while :)

Im using as my base of recording a Roland Vs2000 workstation (analoge components digital recording) with the SP C1 and the built in preamp.

From there i took it into adobe audition 1.5 (i can't seem to stop loving this thing and i have Cubase sx3!) and mixed the song (i notice that i could have added a little more warmth to the vocal parts and put a small de-esser on them but live and learn) using the adobe audition compressor on the vocals in conjunction with a voxengo tube vst plugin.

p.s.- mic placement really works and thats coming from a guy who thought it was bull!!

So, what was this "new technique" you learned?

I can't judge the master without hearing the original mix.

Speaking as an engineer... The original mix is pretty bad. Vox are way to upfront, there's a few frequencies fighting each other in the synths, etc... It could be way better than it is.

Your mastering on that track helped some, but it's still not a very good sounding track. So to judge the mastering alone, you did a decent job.

LOL. Lo-fi and Hi-fi! Anywayz, glad to see another C1 user. I tried to get into adobe audition but i like how acid pro works. It's a little quicker and you can snap everything into place on a time grid. Don't get me wrong, i love the editing capabilities of adobe audition. So far, that's all i've really needed it for. Good job tho.

thanks poet

but unfortunately i could only help the track but so much cause the original beat wasn't tracked out for them so i did wat i could to help it
