listen to any of the ones on there, they are all mixed the same way for the most part.

these guys sure dont listen to the pop-rap, as you could call it, or gangsta, or anything like that. more into hip hop, and underground stuff. like:

apathy
celph titled / demi-gods
talib kwali

I liked the chorus, it sounded different and unexpected. As far as your question, "is this real rap?" I would say sort of, but not really, but it's pretty cool. I also agree with the previous comments. I did like the chorus though. It was catchy.

Public Enemy, B.D.P., LL, Run Dmc, Epmd, Eric B and Rakim, all the "Ice's"- like T, Cube, etc.

It certainly sounds like rap to me.. Vocals are pretty up front in the verses, could use some compression.. IMO it lacks a solid low end.. pretty crucial in rap.. It sounds kinda harsh and busy.. (being pretty picky here.. ).. IMO, it's a rap song, and the chorus is REALLY good.
