You are going to be unpleasantly surprised if you have been simply writing lyrics without prior rap experience or even a beat in mind. You could write what you think is blinding brilliance but it isn't going to sound good if you have not written it to a beat, taking into consideration what it sounds like out loud, where to breathe, and every other factor.

That being said, can we see the lyrics? some of us are somewhat of connoisseurs and if we are unable to help record we could at least tell you if it is good or where to improve.

Hi pro404,
I know I am going to surprise a lot of you folks with this rap song "rap experience" well I already have a lot of experience in writing songs.I do have a beat in mind. Also the bass, I have that in my head, all in all this rap as a very good melody I have listen to a lot of rap song and I know that my song can stand out I thing it can be a top ten song.

I have already fix what it sounds like out loud, where to breathe, and every other factor. It is time now for the demo.

Put up the lyrics, or find a beat that sounds nice, cuz it sounds like you really have something there...but we gotta see.

i have a feeling im going to be disappointed, rapping isin't for everyone, most that try are suckars, I've seen plenty that should fail make it, and plenty that should make it fail

Guys OK! Let me ask you this, Is there a demo service you know that does a good job on a rap demo. Because I am form (Guyana) another country this is the reason why I need your help to bring out this song to the best that it can be. And after I finest the demo recording I will post it here. I need a good demo service. That's all,

WHY DO YOU N EED SOMEONE TO RAP THIS SONG? ARE YOU RYING TO BE THE WRITER/PRODUCER OF TEH SONG? IN THAT CASE, LETS C THE LYRICS AND HEAR THE BEAT - IM OPEN TO ANYTHING - I MIGHT RAP IT FOR YOU . . IF THATS WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND!!

i might make a suggestion to get a stronger vocalist for the singing? i take it you wrote the lyrics, and they're pretty good . . . but i dont know how storng the singing vocals are . . .

now i had a hard time hearing the rap . . . it just seemed to be smothered by the music . . needs either to be turned up more, or music turned down . . .

I don't think some of these people understand the business. There's plenty of rappers out there that will do demos for you. You don't need to be a rapper to write rap songs.

Rap/hip hop music has it's rhymes, but it's not suppose to rhyme.
Anyways, we offer good demo services, as well as shopping your demo around to other labels.

Now If You Provide The Lyrics Written Down, Them Its Easier To Just Drop Em For You . . . But I Htink You'd Still Need A Singer For The Singing Portion Of The Song . . .

Rap/hip hop music has it's rhymes, but it's not suppose to rhyme.

You show me a good rap song/rapper that doesn't have decent rhymes and I will eat my hat.
for example: souljah boy: no rhymes, very shitty song and rapper.
nas: rhymes often and in original ways, makes very good songs.

I just don't want the kid thinking that he has created a masterpiece. He's saying he's made a "top ten song" but so far hasn't shown us anything.

No, you don't see my point. Your bases of hip hop & rap is that the song writer HAS to rhyme? I don't know about you, but when I write my tracks, I don't sit around figuring out hmm what rhymes with Cat... But that's you.
Now, what I interpreted, was that just because he said he wrote a rap song, that needs someone to jump on it, than the crowd suddenly says that to write a rap song, one must be a rapper? While in reality, that's not always the case. What I'm saying is, song writers are the basis of this industry, so before jumping to say that you have to be a rapper to write rap, listen first, view a producers vision. Give a person a chance. He may not have a top ten song, but give good critism, don't steer him a wrong path if he wants to be a song writer.

SO, let him do a demo of his song writing skills, and let him shop the demo around. It is a part of the business right?

Well it is true that there are a lot of ghostwriters in the industry. But I think that most of those ghostwriters could actually perform their work vocally, but would rather make money selling their lyrics to people who already have big names. If somebody doesn't really know how to rap or properly carry a beat, I honestly do not think they have a chance at becoming a capable writer.

Maybe somebody could have good ideas, but unless he's an experienced writer with a beat in mind and knows what the flow should sound like out loud, the ideas will never be polished. For example, the verse in the 'merry christmas' song that he posted sounds very awkward and off-beat. It isn't because of the rapper, its because of the writing. If he gave those lyrics to a professional rapper, they would have to be changed in order to sound correct.

I'm not trying to hurt the guy's feelings, and I give him props for trying to write a christmas song. I actually would like to see the song that he was referring to in the first post, but he has yet to show us the lyrics, so I can't do much to help him. Maybe you are right, and this kid is a good writer without being a strong vocalist, but until he delivers then the question will go unanswered.

but to answer your other question, I can't think of any rap songs that I would consider good that don't have a decent rhyme scheme. If you can think of any examples, feel free to try and change my mind. Right now on your myspace, you have 3 songs up. All of these songs sound pretty different from each other, they were clearly written by different artists. The thing that all of these songs have in common is that they all rhyme. I am impressed by the production by the way, you are quite talented.

(Like Birds)There are some people who live in a cage

By: Irwin B. Abrigo

(V1)
I come to tell you bout some people who live in a cage

under lock and key they live everyday

and when the night time comes you better believe

they lay down in their bed and they can't even sleep

for power some people say they love money

while others say they love it for security

I once had a little opportunity

To talk with a rich man who’s unhappy

He said he’s so scared when he walk on the streets

Cause a lot of people out there are crazy

They’ll do anything just to get at him

Cause they know it’s a fact he’s so wealthy

Now money is good and money is bad

But I don’t see the reason why it should make you sad

But then I realize it all depends on the things people did in they past

Like partner is business who rip people off

Who gather together and started to laugh

Now these are the people who live in fear

They live in fear almost everyday

(Chorus)

Oh a ahh a ahh a, There are some people in this world who live in fear

Oh a ahh a ahh a, like birds there are some people that live in a cage

Oh a ahh a ahh a, some people live their live like they are in jail

Oh a ahh a ahh a, like birds there are some people that live in a cage

(V2)

They live in a cage like monkey and apes

Baboons, lions, tigers in a zoo

And if by chance that's how you live your too

I want you to know I’m talking to you

But if you think it isn’t truth

Then this is what I want you to do

Come out on the streets and prove yourself

Look boys! He’s got a gun in his hands

Ah fancy car five bodyguards

Yet he would come near he will stay far

You have nothing of value they say you have no worths

Things like diamond rings gold chains and pearls

But you have your life that’s how you enter the world

From a baby you’ve grown into a little boy or girl

And when you get old and you are an adult

You had pass through stages in which you think you'd won

But there are some people who gain values and worths

Who think they are higher than the Stars up above

They’re so much afraid to greet you out at the gate

They’d stay from their homes and look through the cage

(Chorus)

Oh a ahh a ahh a, There are some people in this world who live in fear

Oh a ahh a ahh a like birds there are some people that live in a cage

Oh a ahh a ahh a some people live their live like they are in jail

Oh a ahh a ahh a like birds there are some people that live in a cage

You have nothing of value they say you have no worths

Things like diamond rings gold chains and pearls

But you have your life that’s how you enter the world

From a baby you’ve grown into a little boy or girl

And when you get old and you are an adult

You had pass through stages in which you think you won

But there are some people who gain values and worths

Who think they are higher than the Stars up above

They’re so much afraid to greet you out at the gate

They’d stay from their homes and look through the cage

(Repeat Chorus)
